Police in Ndola have issued a Warn and Caution Statement against Opposition UPND leader, Hakainde Hichilema.
This follows allegations that Hichilema incited or caused people to riot in Kitwe when he issued a statement that the forest company, ZAFFICO was sold to the Chinese.
Police recorded a Warn and Caution and informed him that he might be required later.
Police have warned that Hichilema’s statement likely breached section 57 (1b) as read together with section 60 (1e and f) on seditious practices.
Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili says he will render support to any opposition political leader perceived to be victimized by the Police.
Mr Kambwili said this shortly after police in Ndola have issued a warn and caution statement against opposition UPND leader, Hakainde Hichilema Mr Kambwili says regardless of political affiliation opposition political party leaders need to unite.
Mr Hichilema was being interrogated on allegations that he incited or caused people to riot in Kitwe when he issued a statement that the forest company, ZAFFICO was sold to the Chinese.
People’s Alliance for change president Andford Banda who also accompanied Mr Hichilema SAID THERE IS no need to victimize opposition leaders.
He says focus must be directed at stabilizing the local economy in order to improve the lives of citizens.
And Mr Hichilema has thanked his fellow opposition leaders for the solidarity.
