Justice Minister Given Lubinda is concerned that Zambia has had no cybersecurity laws in place.

Mr Lubinda expressed worry over emerging cyber crimes in the country adding that questions keep emerging on whether the Government will suppress freedom of expression and speech.

He says cyberspace is meant to improve the lives of the people but that more people are using it to harm others.

The Cabinet Minister was speaking at the inter-ministerial conference on cyber law, cyber crimes and cyber security in New Delhi, India, attended by justice permanent secretary responsible for legislative drafting, Andrew Nkunika and chief Parliamentary Counsel Mwenya Kaela Bwalya.
