THE ACQUITTAL OF CHITOTELA RAISE CONCERN

A Non-Governmental Organization has charged that the acquittal of Housing and Infrastructure Development Minister, Ronald Chitotela casts doubt on whether the due process of the law was followed.

 

Zitukule Consortium says this is because of the fact that he did not step down to pave way for the investigation of alleged corrupt practices that were levelled against him by the law enforcement agencies.

 

Yesterday Lusaka magistrate David Simusamba acquitted Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Ronald Chitotela, in a case where he was jointly charged with three others for concealing property suspected to be proceeds of crime.

 

But Consortium Executive Director, Nicholas Phiri Has Told 5fm News Stakeholders have been against the process as he was being investigated while in office as the Minister.
