The University of Zambia (UNZA) lectures and staff have held a meeting with their management demanding for their unpaid salaries for the month of April 2019.

The aggrieved workers who were addressed by the Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Enala Mwase called for President Edgar Lungu to intervene into the matter and ensure that they are paid their salaries.

Speaking on behalf of the lectures, University of Zambia lecturers and researchers’ union (UNZALARU) President Evans Lampi underscored the need for government to come up amicable ways to ensure that there is timely disbursement of salaries for the workers.

But Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Enala Mwase has assured to inform the lecturers once the talks with President Edgar Lungu are concluded.
