UPPZ U-TURNS ON THE PETITION

Opposition united prosperous and peaceful Zambia president Charles Chanda has reversed intentions to petition the just ended Kasenengwa parliamentary By Election on moral grounds.

The September 6 Kasenengwa by election was scooped by the patriotic front, which Mr. Chanda has described as a sham and a waste of resources, alleging that they were characterized by electoral malpractice.

Mr. Chanda has told Journalists that they will now focus on mobilizing party structures ahead of the 2021 general elections.

“ECZ was hopeless in the just ended by election because they were not managed by them but by individuals from the Office of the President. I’m not worried over the results, but this must be corrected. I’m thinking twice on the petition but cannot go back to the elections on moral grounds.” He said.

Meanwhile, Mr. Chanda said the voter apathy that characterized the Kasenengwa by election with less than 25 per cent of the total registered voters turning out to cast ballots is a sign that people are tired of voting for the PF.
