The Government of Ireland in partnership with the National Heritage and Conservation Commission has included the Victoria Falls on the global greening initiative that is scheduled to take place on the 15th to 17th March 2019.
The Global Greening Initiative is Ireland program which has been running since 2010, with various aims among them correcting false information regarding the positioning of heritage sites.
Ireland Ambassador to Zambia Seamus O’grady is optimistic that the initiative will promote the Victoria Falls globally as it will send more accurate information to the rest of the world.
And Tourism and Art Permanent Secretary Howard Sikwela has observed that incorrect information spread by some countries concerning the position of the Victoria Falls has been negatively affected the tourism sector.
