Chief Chipepo of the Tonga People in Gweembe District says young people should refrain from habits of impersonating themselves as symbols of culture as that undermines traditions.
His statement follows the arrest of a self-proclaimed Likishi dancer misrepresenting the Luvale culture.
The traditional leader says this is unacceptable and that norms of culture need to be respected.
However, Chief Chikanta of Kalomo District in Southern Province says such cases indicate that young people have the interest to participate in cultural practices but access to traditional platforms is limited.
