Athletes, Sydney Siame and Suwilanji Mpondela, have been elected to the National Olympic
Council of Zambia (NOCZ) Athletes Commission.
The duo was elected by an electoral college drawn from selected athletes from all Olympic
Sports Federations in a secret ballot which took place last weekend.
Suwilanji, who is 100m and 200m Runner, is now NOCZ Athletes Commission Chairperson
after being elected in the second round of the elections, and will also sit on the NOCZ Board.

In his congratulatory message, Zambia Amateur Athletic Association (ZAAA) President, Elias
Mpondela said the election of the two Athletes is a milestone and achievement for the

Siame and Suwilanji were part of the top 6. Siame garnered 11 out of 27 votes with
Swimming, Basketball, Table Tennis and Karate while Suwilanji had 22 out of 27 votes.
