President EDGAR LUNGU says Zambia will continue fostering an environment for further strengthening of mutual relations between Zambia and China.
The President says he will do his part to ensure that Zambia and china’s mutual cooperation continues to grow to greater heights.
President LUNGU said this at State House yesterday when Chinese vice-minister of Foreign Affairs in Charge Of African Affairs ZHANG MING paid a courtesy call on him.
He assured MR ZHANG that his administration is on course in implementing all Chinese-funded programmes and projects in Zambia.
Currently, Chinese investment in Zambia stands at 380 million United States dollars and exports from Zambia to China have also risen by 21 percent.
Meanwhile Foreign Affairs Minister HARRY KALABA said as Zambia hosts the African Union meeting in 2022; the country was looking to china to help in putting up the necessary infrastructure.
The minister said this when Chinese Foreign Affairs Vice Minister ZHANG MING paid a courtesy call on him at his office in yesterday.
Mr. ZHANG MING said china’s state councillor for economics and social affairs would be visiting Zambia next month for bilateral meetings that would boost the corporation between the two Countries.
He is grateful that the Chinese government is pushing the agenda of cooperation between Zambia and China as announced by Chinese President XI JINPING.
And MR ZHANG said the two Countries will continue to share mutual trust and economic cooperation which have strengthened over the years.
