The Zambia Road Safety Trust is concerned that the country has remained a victim of poor road marking and signage a situation which is contributing to road fatalities in the country.

 

A total number of 30,652 road traffic accidents were recorded in the year 2018 compared to 30,163 recorded in 2017 showing an increase by 489 road traffic accidents.

 

In 2018, 1,636 were fatal road traffic accidents in which 1,817 persons died compared to 1,436 fatal road traffic accidents in 2017 in 1,989 persons were killed showing an increase in fatal traffic accidents by 200 and a decrease in persons killed by 172.

 

Organization Communications Manager, Miles Mwale has called on authorities to pay attention to the issue of road marking and signage.
